Despite the ongoing global pandemic BetaTec Hop Products, the world leader in the beyond brewing applications of hop products, has completed its expansion of its BetaTec Innovation Center (BIC) located in Malvern Hills Science Park, Great Malvern, Worcestershire, on a 10-acre site of outstanding natural beauty at the foot of Malvern Hills. The expansion project doubles the size of the chemistry laboratory at the BIC. It adds state-of-the-art equipment for developing new proprietary technologies to support innovations in hops and other natural ingredients.
In accelerating its scientific research capabilities, BetaTec is strengthening the development of proprietary technologies as well as continuing to build R&D partnerships and collaboration programs with universities and industry partners. The BIC expansion focuses on enhancing chemistry capabilities, developing new applications for existing products, supporting the microbiology and fermentation team, and creating breakthrough products and technologies aligned with business strategy.
Further, BIC scientists and researchers in the UK will use the new lab space to test new ways to convert the raw hop materials or components into sustainable and eco-friendly hop products to be used in industrial, ingredient, and health and wellness applications.
Overall, the expansion complements the site’s existing research and lab footprint and capabilities, which will allow BetaTec to explore new avenues for growth.
