R&D Lab Manager – Malvern, Worcestershire
The Barth-Haas group are the world’s largest supplier of hops products and services with a number of different divisions supplying various markets. The Group was founded in 1794 and is the oldest and largest hops company in the world. We are currently working with BetaTec who are effectively the application arm of the Group. They focus on the technical support needed to apply these hop compounds to new applications that extend beyond the traditional brewing base and have a truly global scope.
We are on the lookout for an experienced Lab Manager to oversee and manage the laboratory team at our European Innovation Centre based in Malvern, Worcestershire. You’ll play a key role in the R&D team with your job having two main focuses: conducting commercially driven bench scale laboratory experiments and pilot trials and then also providing technical support to other areas of the business as needed. You’ll also be involved in project work and have to ensure that you and your team meet deadlines.
Outside of the lab, you’ll be attending trade shows that are relevant to our industry to assist the sales team with marketing and business development.
You’ll be positive, proactive and passionate about our industry. Other qualities you’ll have are flexibility and the ability to look at problems from a different angle in order to come up with creative solutions.
We are looking for candidates that have a minimum MSc in a relevant science. – An understanding of microbiology and have experience in the scientific principles of fermentation, microbiology and chemistry is preferable. Previous experience of working as a Lab Manager or Lab Supervisor is essential.
