Global Technical Leadership in Hop-Derived Innovation

Sami Faour is Global Technical Director at BetaTec Hop Products and a specialist in naturally derived hop compounds for the food, nutraceutical, and biofuel industries. He has more than 20 years of experience across chemistry, technical product development, and commercialization, including nearly two decades with BetaTec. Over that time, he advanced from technical services into technical leadership while building experience in business operations and taking responsibility for the company’s global technical, innovation, and intellectual property work.

An organic chemist by training, Sami holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the American University of Beirut, a Master of Science in Organic Chemistry from George Mason University, and a Master of Science in Organic Synthesis from the University of Virginia. He has published articles and white papers on technical product development throughout his career.

He also holds certifications in project management, agile project management, new product development and innovation, and business acumen and strategy from the University of Wisconsin. Sami applies this technical and commercial background to the research, development, testing, and launch of hop-derived solutions that help customers reduce reliance on antibiotics and harsh chemicals.
